Welcome to CultureCase
A resource for the cultural sector
CultureCase comprises a vast array of carefully selected academic research from universities and scholars around the world that can add value to the work of the cultural sector.
The research on the site has been edited into easily accessible summaries of key findings and insights to help inform the sector and provide the empirical evidence to support activities across arts and culture. We’ve created short accessible summaries of academic research that demonstrate the impacts of arts and culture, as well as highlighting a range of insights to help inform future planning. You can use CultureCase to help:
- advocate for the value of culture
- apply for funding
- inform programming, marketing and strategic decision-making
In collating research for this resource we have selected studies from peer reviewed academic journals that respond to the challenges set by a network of cultural sector partners. You don’t need to be an expert in research to use this site: simply use the search bar, research categories or contents page to explore what’s here.
CultureCase is an experiment in communicating academic research. We want the site to evolve with your participation so please get in touch if you have a suggestion for how it might be improved or any additional academic studies you think should be included.
CultureCase will soon also include an additional data portal to provide the sector with access to high-quality data to support decision-making, planning, advocacy and artistic practice. This ‘sister site’ is being developed in collaboration with the Department of Informatics at King’s College London and will be launched later in 2017.
